The Board of Directors of Altria Group, Inc. (Altria) voted on 30 January 2008, to authorize the spin-off of 100% of the shares of Philip Morris International Inc.
to Altria's shareholders. The distribution was made on 28 March 2008 (the "Distribution Date"), to Altria shareholders of record as of 5:00 p.m. EDT on March 19, 2008 (the "Record Date").
Altria distributed one share of PMI for every share of Altria common stock outstanding as of the Record Date, based on the number of Altria shares outstanding at 5:00 p.m. EDT on that date.
